3/2010M&R adds Mori Seiki NL2500 with live tooling
M&R will increase capacity to the cnc turning department with the purchase of a new Mori Seiki NL2500 cnc lathe. The NL-2500 has live tooling capabilities and will be the second live tooling lathe in production at M&R. M&R has a Mori Seiki SL-200 with live tooling and bar feeder currently in production running low volume quantity jobs (50-500 pcs per set-up).
3/2010M&R adds Mori Seiki SL-75 cnc lathe in turning department
M&R increased capacity and capabilities in the cnc turning department with the purchase of a Mori Seiki SL-75 cnc lathe. The SL-75 will give M&R the capability to supply parts with turning requirements up to 30 inches diameter.
2/2010New Matsuura Horizontal Machining Center increases capacity
M&R has again increased capacity with the commissioning of a second Matsuura H. Plus 405 Horizontal Machining Center.
2/2010Jacek Szum appointed Engineering & Quality Manager
Jacek assumes overall responsibility for process engineering, process quality and M&R’s ISO recertification process.
1/2010Eric Szewc appointed Plant Manager
Eric assumes overall responsibility for all plant operations.
1/2010M&R implements Autocrib Automated Inventory Control & Vending Dispensing System
M&R partners with Machinery Tooling & Supply to manage cutting tool inventory and dispensing. The Autocrib will allow M&R's Engineering department to integrate with the tool crib, improve document control, decrease lead times for getting tooling to the shop floor and allow M&R to continuously stay current with cutting tool technology.
8/2009 Work begins on DOE projects
M&R begins supplying components for an OEM supplier of industrial machinery and automation that will be used for Department of Energy applications. As part of the contractual requirements, M&R has implemented customer specific procedures and processes in the shop that do not allow for cross contamination between stainless and carbon steels. Customer specific traceability procedures also have been implemented for the work related to the project.
8/2009 New Matsuura Horizontal Machining commissioned to increase capacity
The H. Plus 405 will increase capacity in the small Horizontal Machining Center department.
7/2009 Engineering department expanded
In taking a step to meet long term strategic goals, M&R has expanded its engineering department. The department has more in-depth focus on job processing, process improvement and quality engineering. All jobs are processed with more detail prior to production, taking into consideration best manufacturing techniques, tooling, internal quality and customer specific requirements.
